The Giant Schnoodle is produced when crossing the. Giant Schnauzer with the Standard Poodle

As most everyone knows, the Standard Poodle is the largest variety of the Poodles.

Our large, BEAUTIFUL silver AKC/UKC registered male stands 27.5 inches at the withers and weighs 76 pounds. He is very intelligent, gentle, loyal, fun and great with kids. Hip and elbow preliminary OFA tests were excellent. CERF (Canine Eye Registry Foundation) testing was normal.

The Giant Schnauzer (known as Riesenshcnauzer in its’ native land) is a lesser known breed in the United States. It is the largest variety of the Schnauzers. Unlike the Poodle, the three types of Schnauzers, the Miniature, Standard and Giant are three distinctly separate breeds. The Giant was originated in Germany; Bavaria to be exact. It was developed in the 1600’s as a working dog specifically as cattle and sheep drovers and as guard dogs. They have a dense, whether resistant coat. The Giant Schnauzer is a much larger and more powerful version of the look alike Standard and Miniature Schnauzers.

Our lovely black AKC/UKC registered Giant Schnauzer female stands 25.5 inches at the withers and weighs 70 pounds. She is extremely sweet, gentle and loyal. At times she can be a silly clown. She has earned 3 ‘Best of Breed’ ribbons. Hip and elbow preliminary test results were excellent. CERF (Canine Eye Registry Foundation) testing was normal.

Both of our dogs have easily completed obedience training and are now involved in carting and agility. The Giant Schnoodle puppies that they produce should weigh approximately 65-90 pounds at maturity, they average around 75 pounds. You should have a Giant Schnoodle who is a very composed, easily trained dog, highly intelligent, with a sound reliable temperament, who is courageous, loves human companionship, is deeply loyal to family, and will be extremely affectionate with children. They are focused, and laid back, very sweet, and at times can be silly, they seem to be very happy and content. They are family dogs. They do not do well just stuck in a yard or kennel. They do need human companionship, they will not do well left to themselves, they require daily interaction with their family, they love walks and playing games, they love to be trained, they are extremely fond of most outdoor activities. As you guide them and let them know what you expect from them, you will find that you have one of the most wonderful dogs you could ever want. They are proven to be great service and therapy dogs. They require a moderate amount of grooming. Their coat will vary in texture but it is typically a silky wavy coat with soft curls. They are definitely water dogs, they love the snow, and do well most any climate.
