In her own words:
Hi everyone! I am Sharrin. Jason and I live in Rancho Penasquitos in a large home with a big back yard. We have three “fur-children”; Nippy, Tucker and Harpo. Nippy and Tucker are both 3 years old and are Dachshund mixes, they have the same mom, but different dads. Harpo is a 5 year old long haired Chihuahua. All three of our babies LOVE other small doggies and cats. They are extremely loving and the center of our life. We love to pet sit for others because it gives a chance for our babies to remember to share their toys and home! We love all dogs and would love to care for yours as our own while you are away.

Debbie was raised in a small farm town in the Midwest. She’s had animals in her life pretty much all of her life. She was married to a farmer and raised farm animals. She has had dogs, cats and horses as pets.
Debbie lives in a large, lovely one bedroom condominium with a small patio area. She could easily accommodate one or two small to medium, low to moderate energy type dogs that are house trained or paper trained and would enjoy going on several walks during the day to nearby parks and golf courses.
Debbie currently has no pets of her own so can take on campers who prefer to be the only ones. She can also take a kitty or a family of kitty-campers, rabbits, hamsters or other “pocket-pets.”
Debbie’s a wonderful addition to our team!

There is a huge separately fenced side yard area with access to a fenced in area in the garage. Pets are welcome inside as well as outside of this home; anywhere that they are accustomed to being when they are at home.
What a great place for dogs. Paws`N Play is grateful to have Debbie & Butch with their beautiful home as part of our team!

Heather is a native La Jollan who lives in a darling home in the Village area. The home is securely fenced and cross fenced and seems to always be teaming with 4 legged campers. And she loves it that way! Her own dog is a 5 year old, large very friendly yellow lab mix named Sniffer. She works as a part-time Nanny for three children ages 6,8,10 who are very gentle and respectful of animals.
Heather has been taking canine campers into her home for about 4 years now and has a passion for it. In her own words, “I love to interact with them, exercise them and make sure they feel loved and happy”. Heather is a wonderful addition to the Paws`N Play Host Family Team

Jana lives in a beautiful calm and peaceful home in Carlsbad. It is completely fenced front and back. She is the proud guardian of two friendly little dogs; one is a Pug mix, and the other is a Chihuahua mix.
Jana really loves and enjoys pets and the great joy and companionship they bring to a family. Each “guest” is treated as if they were her own “fur-children”. Jana works primarily from home so is there to give them plenty of TLC. She has room in her home to accommodate a few canine or feline “campers”. Jana is a welcome addition to the Paws`N Play team of Host Families.

Jim retired from the Department of Defense at NAS North Island on January 2nd, 2003. Anna retired soon thereafter. Since that time, as many young retirees do, they have spent their summer months traveling the country in their RV with their 2 Shelties Max, 4 and Chandler, 2. Everywhere they go, they gravitate towards other dog owners, visiting and making new friends. Max & Chandler are very social and playful and enjoy visiting and meeting new dog friends also.
Jim and Anna have owned and loved animals all of their lives. Anna grew up on a farm in Wyoming with dogs and cats all around, and Jim raised pigeons in a backyard aviary and had several dogs in his life as well.
They live in a quaint little home on a beautiful, large bay view lot that is fully fenced and cross fenced. “Guests” are welcome both inside and outside of their home. Their home could comfortably accommodate up to 4 small to medium sized dogs (under 50 lbs.)

Donna recently retired after 30 years as a purchasing agent so is home most of the time while John is still working. They both love all animals and have a secure, loving home.
With kids gone and after losing her two 15 year old dogs this year (that were raised from puppies), they are now “empty-nesters” who have opened their hearts and home to visiting pets. They have a remarkable fondness for cats and dogs of any size. Since they currently have no pets of their own, they can accommodate pets that prefer to be the only ones.
Their property is quite large with a fabulous view. The back yard is entirety fenced with 6’ chain link with a separate fence surrounding the pool (where those swimming pups can enjoy supervised swims on warm summer days). Cats have a very large, beautiful room of their own with a bed to sleep on (or under). Dogs have free range both indoors and out. This is a wonderful environment for feline and canine guests!

Michelle and her sister Kim live in a lovely 4 bedroom home in the Clairemont Mesa area. They have two completely fenced in yards, which the animals have access to at all times. Michelle has a nine year old pug named Marilyn and Kim has an eight year old terrier mix named Bentley. Both dogs are extremely well behaved with other animals, and Bentley loves to play with the younger dogs. Both of their dogs have full run of the house, and sleep in their bedrooms as do their “guests”. They are very spoiled, as they believe all animals should be. They have hosted many animals in their home, and enjoy doing it.
Canine campers that leave Michelle & Kim’s house, go home happy and tired! Paws`N Play Pet Camp is grateful to have Michelle & Kim as part of our team

In his own words:
My childhood years were spent in Virginia. I would always be playing in the woods as a kid with my first dog. He was a Dachshund named Schnapps, much bigger than the miniatures that you usually see. Most of my life I was raised in San Diego where I went to high school and college. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. The college was overlooking one of the best surf spots in Point Loma where I would be most afternoons. I would take my dogs that liked to swim in the surf. My Rottweiler would sometimes swim out to me on my surfboard. Bruno was a great swimmer surprisingly. I currently live in Clairemont overlooking Tecolote Canyon and have a Chocolate Lab named Coconut. He is so loving…as most Labs are. I have had dogs most of my life and enjoy being around them with their different personalities and traits. I love all breeds of dogs and find them to be very therapeutic and relaxing to be around.
Skip is a welcome addition to the Paws`N Play Team. He has a wonderful, secure home that can accommodate friendly dogs of any size

Zac and Jessica live in a two bedroom house in Leucadia/Encinitas with their son Zavier (born May 2005), their nine-year-old German Shepherd mix Caesar and their six-year-old tabby cat Sprewell. They have a fenced-in back yard and side patio area and can take in one or two dogs who are accustomed to and friendly with children and cats. They also welcome smaller, caged creatures.
Jessica has worked for animal welfare organizations for six years. She currently works part time and from home, so the animals are rarely left alone. Both Zac and Jessica have loved and cared for animals all their lives. They enjoy taking the dogs for regular walks in the neighborhood and for outings to Cardiff Beach, where on-leash dogs are welcome.

In her own words:
Hi! My name is Cindy Marks and I would love to take care of your pet while you are away! My partner Bill and my two sons, Jeff and Ian, aged 14 and 17 will also be thrilled to have a pet to love and care for. Although we have had dogs and cats in the past, presently we so not have one so we would love to borrow yours!
We live in a two bedroom condo that is comfy enough for small dogs or cats, however, several of our neighbors have larger breeds and we are prepared to take your larger dog for walks, trips to dog parks and possibly the beach. I have an SUV so we have plenty of room to transport. I used to love taking my two golden retrievers to the beach. We live in a complex that allows animals without restrictions.
My mother raised me with cats, dogs, and horses. We traveled all over the mid-west going to AKC Dog Shows competing in obedience trials. I earned my C.D. (companion dog) certificate with a Pomeranian and was even invited to show at the Westminster Dog Show in Junior Showmanship. I have since trained a Sheltie and my Goldens in basic obedience. Should you desire, I can offer basic training to your pooch for an additional fee. I should also mention that we raised and showed Persian cats as well as attended amateur horse shows both in English and Western. Over-all, I think you would feel safe and confident about leaving your loved one in our care. We look forward to meeting you and your cherished family member!

Hi, my name is Jeanette. I have been a pet lover all of my life, especially dogs. I have worked part time at a dog and cat grooming salon for the last 20 years. I live in a great house in the north end of Escondido, on two fenced-in acres, and a large dog run. We have furry friends that come vacation at our home often. I have two teenaged children that are always a part of the playing. We all enjoy our four-legged friends and take good care of them. We would love to have your pet vacation with us. We get lots of fresh air and exercise, comfortable sleeping beds, lots of love and attention, petting, and hugs. Your dog will love this home away from home.

In his own words:
Once upon a time there was this real nice fella named Kris who came to San Diego from Sunny South Florida back in 2000. I have been in the Pet Trade for about 20 yrs. and have been involved with wildlife rehabilitation and raising exotic birds. I am currently breeding all varieties of Cockatiels, Pacific Parrotletts and Congo African Grays. My partner Charlie and I are owned by a teacup poodle named “Minny”, a Jack Russell-ShiTzu mix named “Jefferson” and a beautiful big red hand raised Macaw named “Sundance”. All visiting birdies are separately housed and given a variety of fresh fruits, veggies, treats and loads of attention in addition to any special instructions that they may require. I love all kinds of animals (more so than most people). When your pet comes to Kris and Charlie’s house in Oceanside it's like Pet Disney World. We don't have a Tinker Bell but we have Kris!
Kris’s expertise with birds makes him a very valuable member of the Paws`N Play team!

In her own words:
I live in a little house in the wonderfully diverse neighborhood of City Heights with my rescue dog Elimi. We like to go to Dog Beach and hike often in Mission Trails Park. Elimi also likes to run with my bike to get a really good workout at Mission Bay. I have always had dogs and cats in my life, since I was a kid. I am an animal rights person and love animals in the same way as I love people. Each one has a totally unique personality and way of being. I even love bugs! I’m a trained entomologist. I am a science teacher here in San Diego and enjoy teaching very much as well. I work at a high school in Southeast San Diego and teach biology and Environmental Science.
Thanks for reading!!

Natasha, her husband Ron, son Sasha and niece Anna live in a lovely home in San Carlos. Dog guests are welcome inside and out. There is also a large separately fenced yard with a huge, cushy shelter for dogs. We are privileged to have such a nice family as part of the Paws`N Play Host Family team.
About Natasha (in her own words):
I am Russian from Moscow. I have a lot of experience having had dogs my entire life. I was a small breeder of Great Danes in Russia. I have some skills with training; I am able to administer medications including injections.
Viewing the photos of my home, you won't see any kennels, cages or any restricted areas. That's right! My concept of pets' camping is to keep your baby as my own. I want my guests to feel like home and be welcome to find a favorite spot in my house for sleeping, to play with my children, to cuddle on a couch with me. I am a housewife so most of my time is spent at home and your dear pet is going to have my company most of the time, day and night and will never be left outside unsupervised. I also love to walk dogs it's a great exercise for both of us. I have my own dog, a little Schnauzer named Puky (meaning Buddy in Hawaiian). He was adopted a month ago, but already has become a great part of our family. He is friendly and very well behaved and would love to have a friend to play with if you bring your dog to be our guest. Our house is open for everybody. You are welcomed at any time in my "MILYMILY PET CARE"!
Sincerely,
Natasha

Meet the Encinias Family
David, Deborah, Aaron and Alicia.
In their own words:
We live in a home in Point Loma with our extended (pet) family members: Lupie (a well behaved, a 10 month old golden retriever / Shepherd mix), Riley (8 year old rat terrier mix), Wiggy (a parakeet), Iggy (a 6 month old baby iguana) and our newest family member is Sugar ( a short haired white hamster).
We all share a love and appreciation for animals. We devote our time and attention to both our pets as well as our “guest” pets. We treat them as if they were our own children. We would love to open our hearts and our home to your pets too. We have a secure 6’ fenced yard with a nice grassy area and plenty of room to run and play. Pets are welcome inside and out. We also have a room just for cats. They have a window to bird watch, bask in the sun and enjoy a great view of the yard.
We look forward to a visit from your pet (or pets) soon!

In her own words:
My name is Jennifer and I live in downtown San Diego on the 4th floor of a condo building. I have a 5 year old yorkie who is quickly becoming a city dog. We take walks often, especially to "park in the park" at Petco Park, which is across the street from my house. I am a true animal lover of all kinds. I love the zoo, vacations where I can meet new animals and the everyday life of pets in my neighborhood. I had cats in my life, but currently just have Jack - the yorkie. My sister and mom have yorkies, so we often do activities that include all the dogs. I’ve volunteered at Dove Lewis Animal hospital in Portland and enjoyed all the interactions and experiences there. Since I live downtown a condo dog or cat is probably the best fit for me.

In her own words:
I live alone and am home most of the time. I have been around animals my entire life. I love spending time with animals and will treat them as my own. I was a Medical Assistant early on and also know emergency service for people and animals. Animals always take a liking to me because I communicate with them on their level. I’m a loving, kind and outgoing person who will give them lots of love and attention. I have a big dog kennel (for when my daughter comes to visit with her 2 dogs), doggie gates, leashes, toys, etc. I also have a dog park right up the street if your dog likes to socialize and play. I look forward to adding your pet to my extended family.
Victoria’s a great addition to our host families!
