Paws`N Play Pet Camp was founded in August of 2000 by Pam Mathison, a real estate broker in San Diego County for 30 years. Pam is very knowledgeable about all types of pets as she has parented just about every type of pet known to man during her lifetime. She is currently "owned" by a 26 year-old retired Arabian horse named Gungaddin, a 12 year old orange tabby cat named Sandy (who trains all the dogs) and a seven-year-old Miniature Schnauzer named Maxine.

A lifelong animal lover, Pam became known as "The Pet Friendly Realtor", finding suitable homes for pets and their people. Paws`N Play Pet Camp came about quite by accident. Pam was always volunteering to take care of relocating clients pet's while they were moving. The pets were happy and she enjoyed it as well. She never took vacations herself though because she had nowhere to leave her precious pets. She knew that she needed to find other people who had the same passion for and knowledge of animals as she. And that's how Paws`N Play Pet Camp was conceived.

The demand has been much greater than she ever expected. "There is a huge need for this type of service. Pets are a part of our family and we want only the best for them. Why should our pets go to jail while we go on vacation?"

Pam has lifelong experience with all types of animals; horses, dogs, cats, reptiles and birds. She has trained dogs and horses. She is passionate about animal health and nutrition and advocates natural diets.
